1. Does the spotlight have a built-in battery?
No. The spotlight does not contain a built-in rechargeable battery and cannot operate as a cordless light.
It must remain connected to a compatible 12V cigarette lighter or vehicle accessory socket while in use. Only the wireless remote control uses a battery.
2. How is the spotlight powered?
Connect the supplied power plug to a compatible 12V cigarette lighter or vehicle accessory socket.
The vehicle power source operates the LED light, rotation motor and wireless control receiver. Disconnecting the power plug will turn off the spotlight.
3. Can I use the spotlight when the vehicle is turned off?
This depends on whether the vehicle’s cigarette lighter or accessory socket continues supplying power after the ignition is turned off.
On many vehicles, the accessory socket shuts off with the ignition. Check the vehicle owner’s manual before use to avoid draining the vehicle battery.
4. Does the remote control require a battery?
Yes. The wireless remote control uses a battery to send commands to the spotlight receiver.
The remote battery powers only the remote control. It does not provide power to the spotlight.
5. What functions can be controlled remotely?
The remote allows you to turn the spotlight on or off, rotate the lamp head horizontally, adjust it vertically and activate the one-touch reset function.
The lamp head provides 360° horizontal rotation and up to 120° of vertical adjustment.
6. What does the one-touch reset function do?
The one-touch reset function automatically returns the lamp head to its centered starting position.
This allows you to reset the beam direction without manually rotating the spotlight.
7. How far away can the remote control be used?
The wireless remote has a rated control range of up to 50 meters or 164 feet under open, unobstructed conditions.
Vehicles, walls, electronic interference and other obstacles may reduce the effective control distance.
8. What surfaces can the magnetic base attach to?
The magnetic base attaches to clean, flat ferrous-steel surfaces.
It will not attach securely to aluminum, fiberglass, plastic, glass or non-magnetic body panels. Confirm that the mounting surface is magnetic before installation.
9. Is permanent installation required?
No. The magnetic base allows temporary, tool-free installation on compatible steel surfaces.
The spotlight also includes mounting holes and safety tie slots for additional retention. Always use a secondary safety tether when the vehicle is moving, and remove the spotlight before high-speed driving unless it has been permanently secured.
10. Will the magnetic base scratch the vehicle?
The protective base helps reduce direct contact with the vehicle surface, but dirt, sand or metal debris trapped underneath may cause scratches.
Clean both the mounting surface and the underside of the spotlight before installation. Do not slide the spotlight across painted surfaces.
11. Can the spotlight be used for camping or emergency lighting?
Yes, but a compatible 12V vehicle power source must remain available.
The spotlight is removable and can be transferred between compatible vehicles, but it is not a cordless or battery-powered camping light.
12. Does installation require wiring modifications?
No wiring modification is normally required for standard operation.
Place the spotlight on a compatible steel surface, secure the secondary safety retention and plug the power connector into the vehicle’s 12V cigarette lighter or accessory socket.
13. What should I check if the spotlight loses power or flickers?
Confirm that the power plug is fully inserted and that the vehicle accessory socket is supplying stable 12V power.
Also inspect the socket fuse, plug connection and vehicle voltage. If the issue continues under a stable power supply, stop using the product and contact customer support.
14. Is the spotlight suitable for every vehicle or boat?
It is suitable only when two conditions are met:
A compatible 12V cigarette lighter or accessory power socket is available.
A suitable mounting surface or permanent mounting location is available.
Many boats, aluminum-bodied vehicles and fiberglass surfaces are not magnetic, so an alternative secured mounting method may be required.
15. What warranty is included?
LED Factory Mart lighting products include a 2-year warranty, subject to the published warranty terms. Orders are also covered by the applicable 30-day return policy.
